Disconnect to Reconnect
Communication Design Strategy

Disconnect to Reconnect is a fictitious campaign funded by the Australian Government Department of Health under their National Preventative Health Strategy which values health before illness and aiming to build healthier communities.

The campaign’s focus is to get the population thinking about screen habits (mainly the habits of young Australians) and the risk factors associated with excessive use from these devices. With just under 80% of the population using a smart phone daily, it is clear that preventative measures need to be taken.

If we can educate the population through the use of clever touchpoints that really ‘speak’ to our audience, we can potentially curb the need for future health care treatments for issues like obesity.

Every Australian child, teenager, parent, granny and grandpa deserves a healthy life. If we can get them to spend less time on a device and more time being active with family and friends, then that’s a win - achievement unlocked.
